About

Most of my working life has been involved in music, principally as a piano professor at the Guildhall School of Music,in both junior and senior departments. When I left the college I continued teaching the piano privately and took up drawing and painting initially as a hobby.

Two years later one of my paintings was accepted into an exhibition at the Mall Gallery and the following year another painting won an award in the Patchings Art competition in Nottingham run by the Artist and Leisure Painter Magazine. I became interested in children's book illustration when a local author asked me to illustrate one of his stories called the "Sea Olympics" which was published privately.

Having decided I was really interested in creating picture books. I joined SCWBI and took part in their workshops and recently have been enrolling in cartoon courses at both Central St Martin's and the Cartoon Museum. Also to keep myself up to date with technology I have been deveolping my skills in photoshop and recently invested in a Wacom Cintiq 24 which has opened up a whole new world for my creativity and illustrations.
